KASP
To have research-based, objective information about the level of KASP of the major target group SRC/FSM carried out at the beginning of the Project implementation 2006 a baseline study to assess the KASP of women in Reproductive age who are clients of the Community nurses (AMC).
The results of the KASP baseline study delivered important information regarding client’s needs for IEC activities and served as basis for the planning of the IEC activities together with the Health Authorities and the AMC. Topics like healthy nutrition, use of contraceptives and family planning; danger signs of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum period and information about childcare were planned and with lectures provided.
In order to compare the level of knowledge, skills and practices from the beginning and at the end of Phase I the end line study was conducted end of March 2008. The same questionnaire was administered again to clients of AMC. The study was supported for the statistical analysis by the Research Institute Idis in Chisinau/MD and an international expert. Addressing the growing problem of Migration several questions regarding migration were added in the end line version of the questionnaire to ask the clients about the situation in their family. The results of the KASP study 2008 showed improved knowledge, practices and increased awareness in the major target group of women in Reproductive Age and clients of AMC.
