School Health

To address the problem of increasing teenage pregnancies, high numbers of abortions and sexually transmitted infections (STI), including HIV/AIDS, the project emphasized on all aspects of Reproductive Health and STI to identify best practices working with youth and raise awareness not only among children and youth but also teachers, parents and the educational authorities/MoE.

All IEC activities in schools were oriented on the Romanian National curriculum for HEC in schools.

More than 1400 children and youth were directly reached for Health Education in schools, in community groups and in the summer schools. Considering the impact in the schools and in the community on teachers, the peers in the schools and the parents as well as the participation of the local and regional media - much more children, youth and adults have been addressed.
