27 - 29 March 2008 - Migration Festival

FSM organised from 27 to 29 March the Film Festival and Exhibition ‘Here and There’.

The festival programme included artistic and documentary movies, dealing with the situation of migrants in and from different parts of the world and how they are trying to cope with having left ‘here/home’ and being ‘there’. A special film session was organized for pupils and teachers Thursday, 26 March.

In addition to the film festival an exhibition of drawings was organised at the Iasi Cultural Centre.The drawings were the results of workshops organized by FSM with children from parents who had left the country. These workshops offered the children the opportunity to express their feelings about their parents or relatives being away.

FSM actively supports children and elderly in coping better with the experience of being left alone by encouraging mutual support from peers and by activating neighbours and the communities in which the children and older people live.
